Editorial Standards
Our standards exist to make sure the destinations we recommend are genuinely worth a traveler's time, money, and attention.
Independence
We do not accept paid placements or sponsored destinations in editorial content. Tourism boards do not influence which places we cover. We pay our own way on fieldwork wherever practical, and disclose hosted visits when they happen.
First-hand experience
Every destination we recommend has been visited by someone on the editorial team or a contributor we trust. We do not write about places only from desk research.
Verification
Facts (transport times, opening hours, place names, prices) are cross-checked against at least two sources before publishing. We prefer official sources for transport and visa information.
Updates and corrections
Articles are reviewed at least once a year and rewritten when material changes occur on the ground. See our Corrections Policy for how to report an error.
Sensitivity
We avoid promoting fragile places that cannot absorb additional visitors. We listen when residents tell us their town is full.
AI use
We use AI tooling to assist with research and drafting. Editorial judgment, fact-checking, and final responsibility always rest with a human editor.
